Workshop Schedule

Online Theatre Arts Workshop

Hello! Thank you for your patience. There are so many new details to attend to trying to set up the coming year. Usually our workshop is an in person combination of theatre games, ensemble building, techniques, auditions, head shots, and dance/vocal workshops. It is a great way to meet folks and have a voice in the year’s planning.

This year we will be meeting as a whole and in our mentor groups - Monday, August 10th through Friday, August 14th, from 9:30 am- 11:30 am (with no morning meeting on Thursday.) We will perform our summer assignments, make plans for possible productions, improvise, try to play some games, and get to know each other.

Mentors will meet at 9:00 am Monday and possibly some other days throughout the week.

Either Monday or Tuesday afternoon, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm TBA, we will have a vocal workshop for all interested actors with musical director G. Scott Lacey, a Juilliard graduate, with a resume to knock your eyes out. It is aimed to get us comfortable with some singing and to polish our presentation skills. Students will be able to choose one of two songs to prepare. G. Scott Lacey will provide the songs and  accompaniment.

Mr. Lacey will also provide a second Vocal/Audition workshop on Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, where students can perform their selected songs. This is for all students, beginners too. Those that need help may be mentored by students who have been in the program longer. No worries. It will be fun.

Tuesday, (Monday, if Mr. Lacey chooses to do his event on Tuesday) Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly Saturday from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Mr. Franz will conduct a Head Start Program for those serious students who want more, to get deeper into the work.  In these sessions we will play with techniques and maybe read from some plays we are considering to perform this year.

We are experimenting with the Zoom format, trying to work out the kinks so, that we can be our most engaged and productive while learning to explore ourselves and the theatre arts.

Please email me at if you have questions.

I’m excited. Here’s to us!
